Urban forest master plan
After years of dedicated collaboration among Louisville Metro, Trees Louisville, and a broad coalition of community advisors including hundreds of neighborhood representatives and a focused Equity Council, the long-awaited Urban Forest Master Plan is now complete.
Launched back in January 2024 following a canopy assessment that revealed uneven tree coverage across the city, this strategic blueprint marks a major milestone in our work to build a healthier, more equitable urban forest. It captures fresh analysis, community insights, and actionable recommendations to guide planting, canopy preservation, and maintenance for decades to come.
