As TreesLouisville’s work has grown, we’ve outgrown our current space. We need more room to prepare and care for trees before planting, keep tools and equipment ready, and bring volunteers and community partners together.
The Canopy Center at 700 E. Kentucky St. will give that work a lasting home, with dedicated space for hands-on training, environmental education, and community gatherings. It will help more Louisvillians become tree stewards and support the work that brings healthier trees to more neighborhoods.

By renovating this historic space, TreesLouisville is connecting preservation with a greener future. Reusing a building conserves resources, reduces demolition waste, and helps retain the character of our neighborhoods.
Neighbors, volunteers, and community partners will have a welcoming place to gather, share ideas, and build connections through a shared commitment to Louisville’s trees.

The Canopy Center will put TreesLouisville’s values into practice, pairing the reuse of a historic building with ENERGY STAR appliances, native landscaping, and healthy outdoor spaces.
Responsible stewardship will guide how we care for the property, creating a welcoming place where neighbors and volunteers can learn, connect, and help grow a greener Louisville.
