Downtown Louisville

Louisville's Central Business District has one of the lowest percentages of tree canopy cover in the entire city, due to the density of buildings and prevalence of paved surfaces like streets and sidewalks. Working with Louisville Metro Urban Forestry, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Downtown Louisville Partnership and others, TreesLouisville is working to install trees where opportunities exist and to "de-pave" areas of concrete in order to create new opportunities for planting.

One of our downtown projects includes a planting sponsored by Bulleit Bourbon along East Witherspoon Street across from Slugger Field. This project has earned Impact Certification by City Forest Credits.
