Join the Kentucky Waterways Alliance this Friday, March 4 for the Eighth Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival! Twelve environmentally-themed films have been selected for the event, which will be hosted at the Clifton Center on Payne St. in the Clifton-Crescent Hill neighborhood.
Considered one of the nation’s premiere environmental and adventure film festivals, this year’s films combine stellar film making, beautiful cinematography and first-rate storytelling to inform, inspire and ignite solutions and possibilities to restore the earth and human communities while creating a positive future for the next generation. Festival-goers can expect to see award winning films about nature, community activism, adventure, conservation, water, energy and climate change, wildlife, environmental justice, agriculture, Native American and indigenous cultures. With the theme “A Change of Course,” This year’s selections will not only take audiences to some of the most remote and beautiful places on the planet, but instill a deep appreciation and a sense of wonder for the natural world that surrounds and supports us.
A reception will be held from 6pm-7:15pm with appetizers, drinks, and a chance to mix & mingle with other members, KWA staff and board, and member organizations! Films will start at 7:30.
