For the second year in a row, TreesLouisville provided the table arrangements for the guests of the Vogt Scholarship Awards Banquet. This year, our Program Coordinator Charlotte put together the arrangements using black containers and burlap. Each table arrangement held tulip poplar saplings for the guests to take home with them.
Apparently, at least one of those guests was a guerrilla-style planter, because two days later, we saw a sapling planting in one of the medians in Cherokee Park! We are pleased to say that the mowers seem to be happy with it since it is still there and growing.
In addition to the saplings, each of the scholarship winners was awarded a larger tulip poplar in a 15-gallon container, to be planted at their respective schools in honor of their achievement.
