You can donate your tree to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife to be used to create fish and wildlife habitats in the lakes in and around the state. You can find out where by viewing the Ky Dept of Fish and Wildlife Resources website.

Metro Louisville is offering to turn your Christmas Tree into mulch. The East District Recycling Center (595 N. Hubbards Lane) and the Southwest Government Center (7219 Dixie Hwy.) will be offering the service starting December 26. It will be available through January 4th, 2016.

To take away mulch, residents have to bring a tree and their own container.

Urban Services District (the old city limits) residents will have curbside tree pick-up available. Residents can also choose to drop off their old trees at the Waste Reduction Center at 636 Meriwether Ave.
